Steve Castellarin has a long history with M&O, starting as a warehouse helper at the age of fifteen. From college through his early twenties, he worked for Bank of America and at Merrill Lynch as a Taft-Hartley Funds Manager. Steve returned to M&O Insulation in 2003 as an Estimator, subsequently becoming a Project Manager, and in 2004 became a Project Manager for Asbestos, Lead, and Mold Abatement for M&O Environmental as well. He started a Commercial Division at M&O Insulation in 2009, later becoming VP of M&O Insulation and Environmental in 2010.

In 2015, Steve left M&O Insulation to work for Performance Contracting in Philadelphia, where he ran that market for PCI for two years. Later, Steve accepted the position as President of Advanced Specialty in 2017, during which he ran all insulation, industrial coatings, firestopping, and abatement operations from Virginia to New York for Advanced Specialty and oversaw the management of multiple offices. In 2020, he was rehired by M&O Insulation as Chief Operating Officer to run all activities and services that the company offers. Today, Steve oversees all of M&O Insulation Midwest, M&O Insulation Atlantic, M&O Environmental, and Insulation, Materials, and Fabrication (IMF) nationally.

For three generations, the M&O Companies have been supported by union Insulators, Laborers, and Teamsters and their families, and he takes immense pride in maintaining their partnership as a 100% union company. Steve’s grandfather, Rich O’Heir, started the business in 1972, and Steve’s goal is to hand over a profitable company to a fourth generation of the O’Heir family one day.

Steve was born and raised in Oak Forest, Illinois, but has lived in Oakland, California; Palos Heights, Illinois; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, working his farm, and traveling with his wife of over 20 years, Rebecca. He has two children, Peter and Cali.
